While I’m sure we can all agree that Miller Lite/Coors Light/Bud Light all technically meet the definition of beer we’d rather drink something else. That being, said I’m enjoying the stupidity of this new “controversy” about corn syrup.

I’m calling it now, MillerCoors is going to come out with a semi-racist add mocking Bud L ight for being a rice beer. This may even backfire on Bud once all those Bud light loving rednecks find out their beer is made with something as foreign as rice.

Rednecks love Bud Light? The trope in the Southwest is that Bud Light is the beer of choice for Mexican dudes .   I enjoy a good beer, but if it’s beer, I’ll drink it. Nothing wrong with a Bud Light on a hot day. I need this shirt to separate me from the Hipsters when I ride my Honda:

Bud Light gives me a headache, I’d honestly drink water before I drink Bud. That being said, if you want to drink something on a hot day Kolsch is great or if you can’t get that, Imperial C erveza. Modelo Especial is also great, really what it boils down to is that I’d drink everything and anything over Bud . Notice though I haven’t mentioned Corona because that isn’t beer, it’s skunked cat piss.

My Doctor Thesis will be on the 3 main brands...when forced to drink this swill; You Love One, Tolerate Another and Hate the 3rd.

I will drink Coors Light, I will t olerate Miller, and I will refuse Bud Light.

Bud seems to be the beer of choice among those I’d typically consider a “redneck”, especially in the south. Around here it’s definitely a mix between Bud light, Keystone light, and Milwaukee’s Best.

Corona s always come with a lime because otherwise they are virtually undrinkable...and even with the lime it’s questionable.

It’s still beer and they are good for all day affairs on a hot summer day. I generally do drink Coors in those cases and much like you won’t touch Bud unless it’s the only thing available.

I work in the Craft beer industry and it’s hilarious watching this #corntroversy play out (ew, I just wrote that). The whole health spin is aimed at getting craft drinkers back/not losing them , but honestly do you know anyone that cares about calories in beer?

I hope your right about MillerCoors making an ad like that, the Bud ads are very annoying to me.

Same here. I love my big dark beers, but sometimes i want something light and crisp, and a Coors Banquet hits the spot.

Funny, bud light is the only beer I’ve ever gotten a headache off of too, and I’ve had a lot of beer on the low end of the scale. I can only assume it’s the rice, but I’ve never had the problem with regular Budweiser , only the diet.

Just so you know, nobody in Colorado calls it Coors Banquet. Just Coors or Coors Light. I met a Coors sales rep in Buffalo once and she kept calling it Coors Banquet. I tried to explain that just because Sam Eliot says banquet in the commercials, doesn't make it right.

I always used to just say “Coors”, but due to its rarity here, people assume I’m talking about Coors Light. That and its how its marketed here.

I had been a Stella fan for quite a while. Recently I have been really enjoying Singha which is a Thai beer. Much better than Chang or Tiger beer IMO.

Every good Redneck knows you save the corn for making white lightning, don’t waste it on your beer.

Given that the most popular domestic soda/pop beverages are all corn-syrup based in the US, I can’t see this as much of a controversy, but I was truly surprised to learn there was rice in my (well, someone’s) beer.
